Welcome — I’m Laura (she/her), and I’m so glad you’re here.

Bienvenida/o — Soy Laura (ella/suya), y me alegra mucho que estés aquí.

As both a mama and a nurse, I’ve witnessed countless families return home after the birth or adoption of their baby with full arms and full hearts—yet so often without the ongoing support needed to find their footing during the tender days that follow. Caring for a new little life around the clock can be overwhelming, and being surrounded by warmth, nourishment, and steady care can make all the difference as you move into parenthood from a place of healing and hope.

Over the past 25 years as a labor & delivery, public health and pediatric nurse, I’ve been honored to hear many birth and adoption stories. Every story matters deeply, and each one deserves unhurried, compassionate space. The postpartum period is a time when feeling safe, supported, and truly seen allows us to care more gently for ourselves and our babies—and to trust in our own innate wisdom.

My work is rooted in the belief that every parent deserves loving, respectful, and affirming care—especially those who may be navigating this season without nearby community or who have been historically overlooked or mistreated within the U.S. medical system.

My “why” is simple: a deep belief in the healing power of being heard, seen, and held during the early months after welcoming a new life into the world. I strive to create a space of connection and community where no one feels alone—a place where your story, your identity, and your family are always centered and honored.

As your postpartum doula, you can expect:

Compassionate Connection: It begins with listening. By creating space for your story, your feelings, and your questions, I offer care rooted in trust, presence, and genuine human connection.

Meaningful Support: Support looks different for every family. I meet you where you are—offering practical help, reassurance, and guidance tailored to your unique needs and values.

Rest & Recovery: Rest is not a luxury—it’s essential. I help protect your time and energy so your body and nervous system can recover while you focus on bonding with your baby.

Nourishing Care: Nourishment comes in many forms: warm food, gentle hands, calming presence, and emotional reassurance. My care is about tending to the whole family—body, heart, and home.

Community Support: No one is meant to do this alone. I strive to be part of your support circle, helping bridge the gap when family or community feels far away and reminding you that you are held.
